Jonathan Benitez explores the relationship between colour, science and feelings through works that hinge heavily on form and abstraction. Growing up in Venezuela, he experienced kinetic abstraction art from artists such as Carlos Cruz-Diez and Jesus Soto that were always present in Caracas and that had a profound impact on his soul. Although Jonathan never received formal art education, he grew up in the art world thanks his mother who exposed him to artists, private collections, and exhibitions. Recently, Jonathan completed a residency with artist Jesse Stilwell in Calgary, Alberta.
